Presently residing in Russia, Don worked as an architect with Rem Koolhas' Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA), in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, before becoming a photographer. He is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, a World Press Photo Award, and the Lange-Taylor Documentary Prize with Larry Frolick, among other citations.
